Locomotive Engineering Services

We back our sales and supply services with a comprehensive range of locomotive and rolling stock engineering services.

Engineering services may be undertaken at the time of sale, e.g. re-gauging of a second hand locomotive to suit the new operator, or may be part of your existing fleet's life cycle, e.g. re-powering to achieve environmental and fuel efficiency improvements, or to replace obsolete components.

Where possible we will use the manufacturer's facilities ensuring availability of engineers familiar with the locomotive and work to the standards of the original operator. But at all times we retain flexibility to work within your budget and your operating requirements.

Pre-sales modifications

As part of any used locomotive or rolling stock sale Rail Engineering Solutions LLC will work closely with the customer or new operator to ensure any and all modification requirements are met; for example dimensional modifications, re-gauging, braking system modifications, coupling modifications, control system modifications and so forth. This work can either be undertaken at the point of sale or we can project manage it in your own country.

VCB overhaul and repair

RES are able to provide a full VCB (vacuum circuit breaker) overhaul and repair facility.

Electronic control card repair

RES are able to provide a warranted electronic control card diagnosis and repair facility.
