Company Background

The inception of Rail Engineering Solutions, LLC. (RES), was the result of dynamic collaboration between two seasoned rail entrepreneurs, at a critical time in the rail industry and the world. The pandemic truly re-defined new ways of doing business with international customers. Not being able to travel, the supply chain and shipping costs soaring to historic levels worldwide, customers found conducting business almost impossible. Both entrepreneurs brought extensive experience to the collaboration including manufacturing, international sales, technical support, design/engineering and much more. With thorough research and market analysis, the two entrepreneurs decided to respond to their customer desire for change by creating RES.

Post-Covid operations required a new entity with worldwide, knowledgeable teams and manufacturing support strategically located to support the customer demands and ever-changing industry, while keeping freight and cost of materials down as much as possible. With the combined experience totaling more than 70 years in the rail industry, the were well placed to meet these challenges, and the RES global journey began.

RES partnered with expert global rail professionals actively seeking the solutions RES could provide. Promptly reconnecting with historical customers, previous working relationships and establishing new relationships with class 1 railroads, regional railroads, Government, private operators, steel, cement, chemical, farming, sugar and many key industries worldwide.

With the base in place, RES has the capacity to replace old rolling stock with more modern or even new rolling stock to provide surplus rolling stock to worldwide clients in a cost effective and timely basis. This allows RES the flexibility to use their experienced shop teams and facilities to provide added value to both buyer and seller. Through ongoing customer relationships, RES can tailor locomotives to meet the client’s budget, operating requirements and offer alternative fleet replacement programs that are unparalleled.

RES outsources the majority of its manufacturing for both NEW, USED and remanufactured locomotives. RES maintains quality control with an ongoing presence and overseas critical check points to insure we deliver the quality the customer pays for and deserves. All new and remanufactured locomotives meet or exceed the OEM specifications.

Every locomotive that is delivered passes through three levels of quality management. The 1st level includes the first-class RES partner facility. The 2nd level is the expert RES engineering and quality assurance team and the third is the most important - our customer. Three levels of quality control in every deliverable are unfounded in the rail industry because implementation of this rigorous process reduces the margins for the seller.
